We strive to bring out your "perfect" smile.
Each person has a unique "perfect" smile; one proportional
and flattering to his or her face. Dr. Josephson and his team will let
you know what your
best smile can look and feel like, and then will help bring it out.
Your
First Patient Visit
With a smile analysis, which often occurs at your
first patient examination, Dr. Josephson will spend almost 90 minutes
of unrushed time with you
discussing what you want. In this examination, you will have a chance
to tell Dr.
Josephson about the smile you've been fantasizing about; the whiter,
straighter, perhaps more glamorous one. Of course, you will also
tell Dr. Josephson
about any problems or pains you've been having. Dr. Josephson will
analyze your smile, teeth, facial symmetry, lips and many other features
of your
mouth and face. Together you will decide on the course of your treatment.
Preventive
Services
If we can keep your mouth clean of the bacteria that causes
cavities and periodontal disease, we can help you keep your teeth for
the
rest of your life. We know much more about the oral cavity than dentists
from the past, and we have many more techniques and tools available
to make sure you can keep your teeth for life. For children, we
offer dental sealants, a protective film that covers their tiny teeth
and
protects them from getting cavities. We encourage patients to come
in every six months for a hygiene appointment to keep their gums
healthy.
All of the work we can provide on your teeth will be pointless
if they become loose in unhealthy gums.
Non-Surgical Treatment of Periodontal
Disease
Unfortunately, everyone
is prone to periodontal disease, and some patients are more susceptible
to the harmful bacteria than others. For mild
or moderate forms of periodontal disease, we offer scaling and root
planing along with non-surgical treatment including antibiotic therapy.
We can inject an antibiotic directly to the infected pockets to help
eradicate the harmful bacteria and heal your periodontal tissue.
Smile
Makeover
In a sense, we think we provide a smile makeover to all of
our patients, because we want to make sure a healthy, beautiful smile
is the end
result. However, for some patients we can take extra steps to dramatically
redesign the smile. We will analyze your smile, including your
mouth, teeth, gums, lips, and how they all relate to the features of
your
face. Then we will reconstruct your smile, changing a little or
a lot, depending on how you want to look. We have the capability of showing
you what your new smile will look like, before you undergo any
treatment,
through photographs and models. This will allow you to think about
the procedure further, and to discuss it with family and friends.
We
can choose from a variety of procedures, including tooth whitening,
porcelain veneers, implants and crowns, to give you the smile you
have always wanted.
Restorative Dentistry
With restorative dentistry, our goal is make sure
your teeth and gums are as healthy as possible, and that the restorations
look
and feel natural.
For a natural looking smile, we offer tooth-colored fillings
for your back teeth instead of silver amalgams. We offer bonding, crowns,
bridges,
dentures and implants to restore your smile to its natural beauty.
Tooth
Whitening
Who doesn't want their teeth to look whiter? To whiten
your teeth, we use the most advanced technology available called Zoom!
The process
takes about an hour, and the results are dramatic--up to eight shades
whiter. Zoom! is ideal for anyone who wants immediate results.
For patients willing to wait longer, we offer a take-home whitening
system allowing you to brighten your teeth in about three nights. You
may go even lighter with additional applications. For more information,

Comfort and Pampering
We realize some patients have anxiety about going
to the dentist, which is often related to past unpleasant experiences.
When under Dr. Josephson's
care, we hope you will feel your anxiety diminish. For most patients,
our aromatherapy feels soothing, and our DVD players and headsets
allow their minds to become distracted from the dental procedure and
immersed
in a movie or a song.
For our more phobic patients, we provide conscious sedation. We offer
nitrous oxide and oral sedation with a board certified anesthesiologist
to help you relax. Some patients have put off their dentistry for years
because of their fears, and then arrive to the critical point where they
must take care of their teeth in an emergency situation. It certainly
doesn't have to be that way. If you have anxiety over visiting the dentist,
talk to Dr. Josephson about it. He understands, and he can help you with
medication so you can smile again.
Laser Dentistry
Because we care a lot about our patient's comfort, we
use dental lasers to provide faster, pain-free dentistry. With the DIAGNOdent
laser,
we can identify cavities when they are very small, and treat the problem
before it gets larger and more expensive. Since even the smallest spot
of decay can threaten the integrity of the entire tooth, finding and
filling cavities is the key to preventing further problems of all kinds.
Cavities often hide along fissure lines, or inside biting or occlusal
surfaces. Dr. Josephson's DIAGNOdent laser is revolutionary and thorough
in detecting cavities.
Implant Dentistry
Dental implants have become a choice treatment option
for many patients who are missing one or more teeth. A dental implant
is a replacement
tooth "root" constructed of medical grade titanium. Dental
implants are extremely stable, strong and natural-looking. Patients with
dental implants are able to eat, smile and laugh without fear or embarrassment
that their denture may slip or click, or their bridge will trap food.

We use state-of-the-art antiseptic procedures. Our sterilization
procedures meet the Center for Disease Control guidelines.
